Recently, we did a presentation to the Everett High School computer class. The “Berry” edition, both hardcover and softcover, has been left in their capable hands; once the class has finished reading it cover-to-cover (and passed the exam) they are to drop it off at a used bokstore.
Who knows if they will follow instructions! Will they find the additional story-not-in-the-original? More importantly, will they order copies for their families for holiday gifts? The editor is happy to sign them.
There seemed to be a bit of interest as the books were passed around the class. During our presentation, we drew a parallel between selling lightbulbs in 1917 with the introduction of the cellphone in the 1990s. Is it not logical to assume that we are experiencing the same sort of transition with artificial intelligence? Though the selling is far easier, that is for sure.
