We admit it, we’re so enamored of this work that not one but seven copies are barely enough to satisfy the desire! We’ve gone ahead and ordered five “Welsh” paperback editions, bringing the total of that run to six. Then, we have ordered another two in hardcover (which are probably the Berry/Arizona editions). That is to say, we have ordered seven copies today.
After these arrive, we will select another person’s name to appear in the final page of the Prologue. (Earlier editions have the Preface/Introduction, which has been re-framed into an honest-to-God prologue, which feels better and is more likely to be read, studies show.) In all likelihood, these seven will be distributed in New England. We will try to reserve one to wind up in South Carolina, despite the lower literacy rate there.

And, in case we forgot to mention it, the hardcover edition is very nice! We are considering releasing a book jacket for it, lovely though the solid cover is. It’s a good solid weight, enough to keep a newspaper from blowing around should you find yourself one morning trying to read while enjoying a breakfast of beignets and chicory coffee at Café Du Monde—it can get quite windy there!
The hardcover is a bit pricey, of course, but this baby is built to last, something you can pass down from generation to generation. We’d charge more, even, but there are limits to what the distribution service will let us get away with.
